The Co-op Experience
Serving on our Board is a fantastic way to partner with other parents to use your talents and learn new skills! As part of a Co-operative Preschool, how will I be participating?
At LCNS, we encourage active participation in what may be your child's first education experience! As a member of a co-operative school, you are a part owner in the business and your voice contributes to decisions that are made. Every family is required to attend 2 meetings per year (Fall and Spring) to support decision making and election of our voting board. There are two levels of participation: General Membership and Board of Directors. The Board of Directors meets monthly to direct school business in accordance with the by-laws of the preschool and take on many of the tasks involved in running our school. Parent Volunteers are needed to fill at least 8 board positions. Board members pay a reduced fee. All families interested in becoming a member of the Board of Directors will be offered a role. Serving on our Board is a fantastic way to partner with other parents to use your talents and learn new skills! There are many opportunities for interested parents and grandparents to volunteer in the classroom and to support our school. |
