Working and Playing Together

The Co-op Experience

As part of a Co-operative Preschool, how will I be participating?

At LCNS we encourage active participation in what may be your child's first education experience! Parents are asked to assist with cleaning our school, and serve on the Board or a Committee. Parents and Grandparents are invited to volunteer in the classroom and to help out with special days. As a member of a co-operative school, you are a part owner in the business and your voice contributes to decisions that are made.  Every family is required to attend 2 meetings per year (Fall and Spring) to support decision making and election of our voting board.

The Co-Op Community Outside the Classroom

As member of the LCNS community, there are many activities outside the classroom that you can participate in. There is an annual Family Event, a Love You Day celebration, and a year end party. Other events we have hosted in the past include muffin morning, a Starry Night Walk, and informal park visits for families.  Serving on our Board or Committees is a fantastic way to partner with other parents to use your talents and learn new skills!

Membership Responsibilities:

  • Attend mandatory Spring and Fall General meetings.
  • Participate in 2-3 monthly cleaning nights per calendar year.
  • One Board or Committee Role per family.
